While there is a certain respect that one is accorded in society merely because of their age, no one wants to be associated with rapid aging. This is because rapid aging comes with its own inherent disadvantages in society. The notion that one is suddenly “old” does not ring well especially to those who want their lives to mean something as far as impacting their immediate society. Aging is also associated with a myriad of health complications and more or less a sedentary life in a nursing home environment or assisted living quarters. That is why there is a scramble by people to fight off the aging process. This can be done using a variety of means. Some involve chemicals, therapy, plastic surgery and even rigorous exercise.
